ASME SA240 pdf download SPECIFICATION FOR CHROMIUM AND CHROMIUM- NICKEL STAINLESS STEEL PLATE, SHEET, AND STRIP FOR PRESSURE VESSELS AND FOR GENERAL APPLICATIONS
1. Scope
1.1This specification covers chromium,chromium-nickel,and chromium-manganese-nickel stainless steelplate, sheet, and strip for pressure vessels and for generalapplications.
1.2The values stated in either inch-pound units or sIunits are to be regarded separately as standard. The valuesstated in each system are not exact equivalents; therefore, each system must be used independently of the other. Com-bining values from the two systems may result in noncon-formance with the specification.
1.3This specification is expressed in both inch-poundand SI units. However, unless the order specifies the appli-cable “M” specification designation (Sl units), the materialshall be furnished in inch-pound units.
